Here is a draft of my CV in Adobe PDF
format. It is also available in postscript,
and here it is in excessively-hyperlinked HTML
format all generated from the same LATEX
file. It's still incomplete, but I'm working on it.
My research interests include Finance, Industrial Organization,
and Technological Progress-related topics.
Recent work includes a co-authored paper published in the November 1997
edition of the Journal of Productivity Analysis.
An abstract
and downloadable copies of the accepted draft in Adobe PDF and Postscript
formats are available.

I have developed some interactive web pages using the perl, c++,
and java programming languages.
Linear Programming
In the Spring of 1996 I was the Teaching Assistant for
Economics146,
Linear Models in Economics. I developed several software tools to help
students visualize the concepts presented in class.

The Web_Solver
is a program I wrote in C++ that demonstrates the Simplex method of solving
linear programming problems via the Web. After the user inputs a linear
program, it outputs a sequence of tableaus leading to a final solution.
Interpretation of the final tableau is left to the student. Some explanation
of the program is available here.
-
I also wrote a web interface in Perl to the public domain linear program
solver called lp_solve.
For a short description of how it works, click
here. There is also a man
page to an older version of lp_solve (1.5) which, for the
most part, is applicable to the version used for the interface (2.0).
-
An alternative Web-based linear program solver called Interactive
Linear Programming is located at UC Berkeley.
-
I made an Excel spreadsheet which is useful for visualizing small LP problems
graphically. It uses a miniature diet problem as an example, but it can
be easily adapted to work for other small problems. Download

and linear programming in general, try the Linear
Programming FAQ. If nonlinear programming is your bag, try the Nonlinear

I scanned in a couple of photos.
I hope to do more of this in the future.

Now through April, 1998 I am a Counseling Assistant with the UCLA College
of Letters and Science. I have a
biography published at their web site.
